A few words about chocolate ...

The chocolate is native to South America and Central America!

At the base of chocolate are the cocoa beans. The Mayans called the cocoa tree Cacahuaquchtl and the chocolate Cocoa. The chocolate was transformed into a sacred and bitter drink with many virtues.Only the Mayan nobles could eat it.

The arrival of the Spanish on the American continent, in the sixteenth century, has made it possible to discover chocolate in Europe.

In Mexico you can still taste chocolate drinks made with various spices: cinnamon, anise, vanilla. One of the must-sees is the one prepared in the typical Oaxaca market. It is also integrated into the traditional Mexican cuisine in the famous "mole" (Puebla) extraordinary chocolate sauce prepared with about fifty different spices.
